Near the end, when the husband and wife were still together and she was out of town, she didn’t miss him in the way she once had. She was busy with work, she was with her friends, she would have liked it if he came with her more often but he didn’t and eventually she let it go. It was never like, Oh I’m so happy to be away from that guy. She was always happy to see him when she got back. But it was harder being away from the dog.
