Appendix III

AIRCRAFT SPECIFICATIONS - 1945 TO 1955

This appendix gives details of most of the British and American naval aircraft developed in the period 1945 to 1955. Within each section, the aircraft are listed in order of their first flight to give a sense of the rate of progress made at the time. In most cases, the performance figures given are intended only as a guide as parameters such as maximum speed and range may well have been reduced in operational configurations. Dimensions are given to the nearest inch.
