Numerous firsthand accounts from members of the former heavy tank battalions.

Despite the fear that the Tiger inspired in Normandy among the Allied soldiers, its actual influence on the course of operations was small. Usually abandoned by the crews themselves, the vehicles often spent a desolate existence for years as wrecks scattered across all of northern France. Here, the commander-in-chief of the Allied forces, General Eisenhower, views a destroyed Tiger II, which has been pushed to the side to clear a road.
