Katukov was a Tank Commander in the Red Army. He commanded various tank armies near Moscow (in 1941), on the Voronezh Front (in 1942-43) and in Belorussia and the Ukraine in 1944. He is remembered for having held up GUDERIAN’S Panzer Group south of Tula in October 1941.
