TAKING THE EXAM
When you come to the exam, bring the following:
• Several pencils (for the multiple-choice)
• Several black pens (for the essays)
• A watch
• Something to drink—water is best
• A quiet snack, such as Lifesavers
• Tissues
• Your driver’s license and some other ID, in case there is a problem with your registration
Other Recommendations
Here are some more tips:
• Don’t work the night before. Allow yourself to come to the test refreshed.
• Wear comfortable clothing
• Eat a light breakfast before the test.
• You are well prepared! As you come to the test, remember that.
Final Preparations for the Exam
Some students have reported spending the entire day and night before the test studying, reviewing their notes, and so forth. If you have properly prepared yourself, don’t bother; it’s not going to improve your score. A quick review of your notes in the early evening of an hour or two might be in order, but by and large, relaxing yourself is the best way to prepare for the test.
“Last year a couple of kids in my class crammed for two straight days before the exam. Both ended up getting a “2” on the test.” —A P Student
