In reserve – passed through Authuille Wood and followed 1st Dorsetshire towards Leipzig Redoubt (1/7). Heavy machine gun fire swept both battalions – redoubt eventually reached but only 2 officers and some 40 men were able to join what was left of the Dorsetshire. Withdrew to Authuille at midnight.
